Method

Prepare Anchovies

  1. 1

Open the package of cured anchovies and carefully rinse them under cold water to remove excess salt.

  2. 2

Pat the anchovies dry with paper towels and set aside.

Make Smoked Butter

  1. 3

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until fully liquefied.

  2. 4

Add the liquid smoke to the melted butter, stirring well to combine. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Toast Bread

  1. 5

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. 6

Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick pieces.

  3. 7

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.

  4. 8

Toast in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the toasted bread slices.

  2. 10

    Add Anchovies

Top each slice of toasted bread with a portion of the rinsed anchovies.

  3. 11

    Drizzle Smoked Butter

Finally, drizzle the smoked butter over the anchovies and bread.

  4. 12

    Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is warm, and enjoy your Cantábrico anchovies with smoked butter on toasted bread.
