Marinating Chicken

Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Marinate the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
Cooking the Butter Chicken

Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet or pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until they are browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.

Add Tomato Puree
Pour in the tomato puree and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.

Finish the Sauce
Lower the heat and add heavy cream and water. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Combine Chicken and Sauce
Add the cooked chicken pieces back into the sauce. Stir until the chicken is well coated and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Garnish
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
