Pork Marinade
Vegetable Side
Method
Pork Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Pork
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade. Add the pork shoulder to the bowl and coat it thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the pork is marinating.
- 3
Roast the Pork
Remove the pork from the marinade and place it in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Baste the pork with the marinade every 30 minutes for added flavor.
Broccoli Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Broccoli
While the pork is roasting, in a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 5
Roast the Broccoli
During the last 20-25 minutes of the pork roasting time, add the prepared broccoli to the same roasting pan around the pork. This will allow the broccoli to absorb some of the flavors from the pork.
Serving
- 6
Slice and Serve
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve the sliced pork alongside the roasted broccoli.
