Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot when you place your mixture inside.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder (if using), and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Flavoring

  1. 5

    Add Flavors

Fold in your choice of fresh berries, chopped nuts, or chocolate chips into the batter to add flavor and texture.

Baking

  1. 6

    Prepare Baking Pan

Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  2. 7

    Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  3. 8

    Bake

Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  1. 9

    Cool and Serve

Allow the baked product to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
