Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Octopus

Rinse the octopus under cold water to remove any dirt and debris. If not pre-cleaned, remove the beak and innards.

  2. 2

    Tenderize the Octopus

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 30 minutes. Remove the octopus and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Octopus

In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic (press or finely chop), chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the cooked octopus to the bowl and coat it well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to a medium-high temperature. If using a charcoal grill, make sure the coals are hot and glowing.

  2. 5

    Grill the Octopus

Place the marinated octopus on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until you get a nice char and the octopus is heated through.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Octopus

Remove the grilled octopus from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice into smaller pieces if desired.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the grilled octopus with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top. Enjoy your dish!
