Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three shallow dishes, set up your breading station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Coat each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere.
Cooking
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- 5
Assemble the Chicken Parmesan
In a baking dish, spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the fried chicken breasts in the dish, then top each with remaining marinara sauce.
- 6
Add Cheeses
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the chicken.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot over pasta or with a side salad.
