Noodles

Method

Prepare the Noodles

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the lo mein noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 5-7 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Beef

  1. 2

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Sauté the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and snow peas. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Beef

  1. 4

    Stir-Fry the Beef

In the same skillet, add the marinated beef and cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until the beef is browned and cooked through.

Combine Everything

  1. 5

    Add Noodles and Sauce

Once the beef is cooked, return the vegetables to the skillet. Add the cooked lo mein noodles. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Pour this sauce over the noodle mixture and toss everything to combine thoroughly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Transfer the beef lo mein to serving plates, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.
