Fried Pickles Ingredients

Method

Fried Pickles Directions

1

Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

4

Fry the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place them into the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

5

Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pickles from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
