Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink. If you prefer, briefly run a lime wedge around the rim and set the glass aside.

  2. 2

    Combine and shake

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, 3 oz cranberry juice, 0.25 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Add a handful of ice (about 4-6 medium cubes). Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 3

    Strain and serve

Dump the ice from the chilled glass (if you chilled it) and fill the glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the fresh ice. The combination of blue curaçao and cranberry juice will create a purple hue.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve with a stirring straw if desired.

  5. 5

    Notes

Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing simple syrup, and adjust color intensity by slightly varying blue curaçao (keep proportions balanced to maintain taste).
