Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass and ice

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill the glass and keep the drink cold.

  2. 2

    Measure spirits and liqueur

If using vodka: measure 1.5 oz vodka. If you prefer tequila, substitute the vodka with 1.5 oz tequila. Measure 0.75 oz Kahlúa.

  3. 3

    Combine in glass

Pour the vodka (or tequila) and Kahlúa over the ice in the prepared glass.

  4. 4

    Add milk

Slowly pour 2 oz of cold whole milk (or half-and-half) into the glass. Pouring slowly helps create a layered look if desired.

  5. 5

    Top with Coke

Gently pour 2 oz chilled Coca-Cola over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass so it layers lightly on top and retains some effervescence. The proportions can be adjusted to taste; add more Coke for a lighter, fizzy drink.

  6. 6

    Stir and garnish

Give the drink a gentle stir (1–2 turns) to combine the milk, Kahlúa and cola without completely eliminating carbonation. Garnish with a single coffee bean or a small lemon twist if desired.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with a straw or short stirrer. Enjoy responsibly.
