Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak Noodles

Soak the rice noodles in warm water for about 20-30 minutes or until they are soft, then drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare Chicken

Slice the chicken breast into thin strips and season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Chop Vegetables

Thinly slice the carrot, red bell pepper, and chop the green onions. Mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Stir-Fry Chicken

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Vegetables

Add the minced garlic, sliced carrots, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

  3. 6

    Add Noodles and Sauce

Add the soaked rice noodles to the skillet along with the soy sauce, fish sauce, tamarind paste, brown sugar, and lime juice. Toss everything together and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until heated through.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the Pad Thai hot, garnished with bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, cilantro, and lime wedges on the side.
