Fried Banana & Ice Cream
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water, whisking until you have a smooth batter.
- 2
Heat the oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Prepare the bananas
Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise. You can leave them whole if preferred.
- 4
Fry the bananas
Dip each banana piece into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated. Carefully place them in the hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- 5
Drain excess oil
Once golden brown, remove the fried bananas from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Serve with ice cream
Place the fried bananas on a serving plate, top with scoops of your choice of ice cream, and drizzle with honey before serving.
