Chicken Fried Steak
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Tenderize the chopped beef steak with a meat mallet until it's about 1/2 inch thick. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs. In another shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour.
- 3
Bread the Steak
Dip each seasoned steak into the flour, coating both sides, then into the buttermilk mixture, and back into the flour to create a thick coating.
- 4
Fry the Steak
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded steaks. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried steaks from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot topped with your choice of gravy, alongside bread rolls and your selected sides.
