Cobbler Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash, peel (if necessary), and slice the peaches and apples, and if using, wash the berries. In a large mixing bowl, combine the fruits with half of the sugar (1/2 cup) and set aside to macerate for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In another mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Cobbler

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon the macerated fruit and all its juices over the batter. Do not stir.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Serve

Allow to cool slightly before serving. For an a-la-mode option, serve warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.
