Curly Fries Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Using a spiralizer or a curly fry cutter, slice the potatoes into curly shapes.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the curly potato slices in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes them crispier.

  3. 3

    Make the Coating

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Coat the Fries

Drain and pat dry the curly fries. Toss them in the flour mixture until well-coated.

  6. 6

    Fry the Curly Fries

Carefully add the coated fries to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the curly fries hot with ketchup on the side for dipping.
