For the Coffee Mixture

For the Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Make Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Combine with Liqueur

In a shallow dish, mix the cooled espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur, if using. Set aside.

Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In another mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Combine Mascarpone

Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth.

  4. 6

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  4. 10

    Chill and Dust

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
