Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary.

Cooking

3

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

4

Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time as necessary for desired doneness.

5

Add Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the pan. Allow it to melt, then spoon it over the steak for added flavor.

6

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
