Preparing the Shrimp

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Cook the Shrimp
Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Ice Bath
Immediately transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes.

Drain and Chill
Drain the shrimp and place them in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Garnish with lemon slices if desired.
Making the Cocktail Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

Adjust Flavor
Taste the cocktail sauce and add hot sauce if you prefer a spicier kick. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
Serving

Plate the Shrimp
Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter or individual cocktail glasses.

Serve the shrimp with the prepared cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
