Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Making the Batter

Melt the chocolate and butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

Mix in the sugar
Remove from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar until fully incorporated.

Add eggs and yolks
Add the large eggs and large egg yolks to the chocolate mixture, whisking until well combined.

Stir in vanilla and flour
Add the vanilla extract, flour, and a pinch of salt. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
Baking

Fill the ramekins
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

Bake the cakes
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

Cool slightly
Remove from oven and let the cakes cool for 1 minute.
