Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean and Prepare the Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps to remove any excess moisture for a crispier finish.
- 2
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt and black pepper. Toss well to ensure all wings are evenly coated.
Cooking
- 3
Bake or Fry the Wings
You can either bake or deep fry the chicken wings. To bake, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and arrange the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through. For frying, heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C) and fry the wings for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
Making the Sauce
- 4
Prepare Buffalo Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the hot sauce, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until heated through, then remove from heat.
- 5
Prepare BBQ Sauce
In a separate bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar until well combined. Adjust sweetness or tanginess to your taste.
Tossing and Serving
- 6
Toss the Wings
Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oven or fryer and place them in a large bowl. Pour your choice of sauce (Buffalo or BBQ) over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the coated wings to a serving platter. Serve hot with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side.
