Gravy

Method

Sausages

  1. 1

    Cook the Sausages

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the pork sausages. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

  3. 4

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Gravy

  1. 5

    Prepare the Onion

    Finely chop the onion.

  2. 6

    Make the Gravy

In the same skillet used for the sausages, add the chopped onion and sauté over medium heat until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. 7

    Thicken the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and soy sauce, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
