Method
Preparation
- 1
Rinse the Jasmine Rice
Place the Jasmine rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear. This will help remove excess starch and prevent the rice from becoming gummy.
- 2
Soak the Rice (Optional)
For even better texture, soak the rinsed rice in water for about 30 minutes. Drain before cooking.
Cooking
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed (and soaked, if applicable) Jasmine rice, water, and salt.
- 4
Bring to a Boil
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, give it a quick stir to ensure the rice doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot.
- 5
Simmer and Cover
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

Add Optional Ingredients
If desired, stir in butter and lime zest for added flavor before serving.
