Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Shrimp
In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with Mr. & Mrs. Crab Special Seasoning. Toss to coat well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add cold water until you achieve a smooth batter consistency.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Batter the Shrimp
Dip each marinated shrimp into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the battered shrimp to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 6
Serve
Plate the fried shrimp and serve with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce on the side. Optionally, add a side of French fries or coleslaw.
