Method

Preparing the Burger

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and divide the mixture into four equal parts. Form each part into a patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place the aged white and orange cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Cooking the Toppings

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions

Slice the medium onion into rings or half-moons. In a skillet, add a little oil and sauté the onions over medium heat until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 10 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In another skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in the oven until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Spread a generous amount of burger sauce on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Place the cheese-covered patty on top, followed by sautéed onions and crispy bacon. Drizzle with BBQ sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
