Dry Rub Ingredients
Rib Ingredients
Method
Preparing the Dry Rub
- 1
Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.
Preparing the Ribs
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 3
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if still attached. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- 4
Apply Olive Oil
Rub the olive oil evenly over both sides of the ribs. This will help the dry rub adhere better.
- 5
Apply the Dry Rub
Generously apply the dry rub mixture to both sides of the ribs, pressing it in well to ensure it sticks.
Cooking the Ribs
- 6
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
- 7
Crisp the Ribs (Optional)
For a crispy finish, remove the top layer of foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking. Optionally, you can broil the ribs for additional crispiness.
- 8
Rest and Serve
Once cooked, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
