Method

Prepare Calamari

    Coat Calamari

    In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture until evenly coated.

    Heat Oil

    In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

    Fry Calamari

    Fry the coated calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

Prepare Tempura Shrimp

    Make Tempura Batter

    In a bowl, combine the tempura batter mix with cold water until smooth.

    Fry Shrimp

    Dip the shrimp into the tempura batter and fry them in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes or until crispy and golden. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

Prepare Shishito Peppers

    Sauté Peppers

    In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shishito peppers and sauté for 3-5 minutes until they blister slightly. Season with sea salt.

Make Sriracha Aioli

    Combine Ingredients

    In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, and lemon juice until well combined.

Serve

    Plate the Dish

    Arrange the fried calamari, tempura shrimp, and sautéed shishito peppers on a serving platter. Serve with sriracha aioli and sweet chili sauce on the side.
