Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this spice mix all over the baby back ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Sear the Ribs

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the ribs for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are browned. Remove from heat.

Making BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Braiding the Ribs

  1. 5

    Prepare for Braising

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seared ribs in a baking dish lined with aluminum foil.

  2. 6

    Add Sauce and Cover

Pour half of the BBQ sauce over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.

  3. 7

    Braise in the Oven

Place the covered baking dish in the preheated oven and let the ribs braise for 3 hours.

Finishing Touches

  1. 8

    Glaze the Ribs

After 3 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil. Brush the remaining BBQ sauce over the ribs.

  2. 9

    Broil

Set your oven to broil and return the ribs to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the sauce. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.

  3. 10

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with your favorite sides.
