Preparation of Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix with Liqueur
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with the coffee liqueur. Set aside.
Making the Mascarpone Mixture

Prepare the Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Gently fold in 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Soak Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
In a 9x9 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Finishing Touches

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Add Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
