Broth

Noodles and Toppings

Method

Preparing the Broth

  1. 1

    Make the Miso Broth

In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Add the vegetable broth, water, soy sauce, and miso paste into the pot. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Broth

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Add the chopped green onions in the last 5 minutes of simmering.

Cooking the Noodles and Preparing Toppings

  1. 4

    Cook the Ramen Noodles

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions, usually for 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the noodles are cooking, prepare the toppings. Soft-boil the eggs by placing them in boiling water for 6-7 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath before peeling. Cut nori sheets into strips and set aside.

Assembling the Ramen Bowls

  1. 6

    Combine All Components

In each serving bowl, place a portion of the cooked ramen noodles. Ladle the hot miso broth over the noodles.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Top with a soft-boiled egg (halved), nori strips, bean sprouts, corn kernels, and a drizzle of chili oil.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve hot and enjoy your homemade miso ramen!
