Method
Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the bread
Take two slices of bread and lay them on a clean surface.
- 2
Add cheese
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on one piece of bread.
- 3
Butter the outside
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter evenly on the outside of each slice of bread.
- 4
Grill the sandwich
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Flip and grill
Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown, another 3-4 minutes.
- 6
Serve
Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve hot.
Fries
- 7
Prepare the potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips.
- 8
Season the fries
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 9
Bake the fries
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned potato strips on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- 10
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- 11
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving alongside the grilled cheese.
