Roasted Beef

Sautéed Mushrooms

Creamy Dijon Horseradish

Method

Roasted Beef

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Rub the beef roast with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Ensure it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Roast the Beef

Place the seasoned beef in a roasting pan and roast in the oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing thinly.

Sautéed Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic, salt, and black pepper, and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Creamy Dijon Horseradish

  1. 4

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together Dijon mustard, prepared horseradish, sour cream, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the pretzel buns in half. Layer the bottom half with sliced beef, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Spread a generous amount of the creamy Dijon horseradish sauce on the top half of the bun.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Au Jus

In a saucepan, heat beef broth over medium heat until warmed through. Serve alongside the sandwiches for dipping.

  3. 7

    Serve

Close the sandwiches with the top half of the buns. Serve hot with au jus on the side.
