Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

  2. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.

  3. 5

    Apply the Barbecue Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce and return to the oven uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the ribs are finishing, steam or sauté the fresh seasonal vegetables until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 7

    Plate the Meal

Once the ribs are done, let them rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with coleslaw and fresh vegetables on the side.
