Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Beef Tongue

Rinse the beef tongue under cold water to remove any impurities. Place it in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 2 hours until tender. Remove from the pot and let cool.

  2. 2

    Slice the Tongue

Once the beef tongue has cooled, use a sharp knife to peel off the outer skin. Then, slice the tongue into thin, even slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Prepare the Chili Mixture

Finely chop the green chili peppers and garlic cloves. In a bowl, combine the chopped chili, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt.

  2. 4

    Cook the Beef Tongue Slices

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced beef tongue to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, until heated through and slightly crispy.

  3. 5

    Combine with Chili Mixture

Add the chili mixture to the skillet with the beef tongue. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Transfer the beef tongue slices topped with the chili mixture onto a serving platter.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Chop the cilantro and sprinkle it over the beef tongue. Cut the lime into wedges and serve on the side for squeezing over the dish.
