
Ferdi Special Recipe
A local merchant and regular Mother’s patron, Mr Ferdi, probably had nothing more than a meaty sandwich in mind when he asked that some ham be added to his roast beef po’boy. But the word went around, and the combo was soon a major hit.

Prepare the Bread
Slice the French bread or po'boy rolls in half lengthwise without cutting all the way through.

Add Condiments
Spread mayonnaise on one side of the bread and Dijon mustard on the other side.

Layer the Meats
Place the sliced roast beef on one side and the sliced ham on the other side.

Add Vegetables
Layer the shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and pickles on top of the meats.

Season
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Close the Sandwich
Carefully close the sandwich and press down gently to hold all ingredients together.

Serve
Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
