Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, and half of the ground black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté Onions

In a large skillet or pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  2. 3

    Add Marinated Chicken

Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chicken is browned.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Tomato Puree

Pour in the pureed tomatoes and mix well. Cook for another 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.

  4. 5

    Add Remaining Spices

Stir in the remaining ground black pepper and garam masala. Mix thoroughly and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked through, remove from heat. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
