Method
Marinating the Fish

Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine the fish fillets with turmeric powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well to ensure the fish is evenly coated.

Marinate
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the fish marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator to absorb the flavors.
Preparing the Tomato Gravy

Heat the Oil
In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

Add Ginger and Garlic
Stir in the grated ginger and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Incorporate the Tomato Puree
Pour in the tomato puree and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oil separates from the mixture.

Add Spices
Stir in the fennel seeds, black pepper, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Cooking the Fish

Add the Fish
Gently place the marinated fish fillets into the gravy. Spoon some gravy over the fish.

Simmer
Cover the pan and let the fish simmer in the gravy for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through and flaky.

Garnish
Once cooked, remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
