Dinner Roll Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the melted butter, milk, egg, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape Rolls

After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes until they have doubled in size.

  7. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. 8

    Bake

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove the rolls from the oven, let them cool slightly, then serve warm.
