Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Custard

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread. Gently fold in the blackberries and chocolate chips. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.

  5. 5

    Make the Whiskey Sauce

While the pudding is baking, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and 1/4 cup of whiskey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and sauce thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the bread pudding is done, let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle the whiskey sauce over the warm pudding and enjoy!
