Cake Ingredients

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Incorporate Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Add Mango and Orange Blossom

Fold in the mango puree and orange blossom water until evenly distributed.

  7. 7

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Prepare the Tres Leches Mixture

In a bowl, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk. Once the cake is done, let it cool slightly before poking holes all over the top with a fork.

  9. 9

    Soak the Cake

Pour the tres leches mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  10. 10

    Serve with Toppings

Before serving, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form and spread over the top of the cake. Garnish with orange zest.
