Method
Preparation of Ribs
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor penetration. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Cooking Ribs
- 3
Slow Cook the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones easily.
Preparation of BBQ Sauce
- 4
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to thicken.
Finishing Touch

Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are cooked, carefully remove them from the slow cooker. Preheat your grill or broiler. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs and place them on the grill or under the broiler for about 5-10 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes.
- 6
Serve
Remove the ribs from the heat, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut them into portions. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
