Pickles Selection

Method

Pickling Process

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the cucumbers, carrots, and radishes thoroughly under cold water. Slice cucumbers into spears, carrots into thin rounds, and radishes into halves or quarters based on size. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Brine

In a large saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, and red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve completely.

  3. 3

    Pack the Jars

In clean, sterilized jars, layer the prepared cucumbers, carrots, radishes, and garlic cloves. Add fresh dill to each jar, pressing down lightly to pack the vegetables snugly.

  4. 4

    Pour the Brine

Once the brine has boiled, carefully pour it over the packed vegetables in the jars, ensuring they are fully submerged. Leave about 1/2 inch of headspace at the top of each jar.

  5. 5

    Seal and Cool

Seal the jars with lids while the brine is still hot. Allow them to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour before placing them in the refrigerator.

  6. 6

    Pickle Time

Let the pickles marinate in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before enjoying. For best flavor, allow them to pickle for up to 1 week.
