Fried Ice Cream Ingredients
Method
Fried Ice Cream Directions
- 1
Prepare Ice Cream Balls
Using an ice cream scoop, form 4 large scoops of vanilla ice cream into balls. Place them on a plate and freeze for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- 2
Crush Cornflakes
In a large resealable bag, add the cornflakes and crush them with a rolling pin or your hands until they are fine crumbs. Set aside.
- 3
Make the Batter
In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, egg, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth.
- 4
Coat Ice Cream Balls
Remove the ice cream balls from the freezer. Dip each ball first into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off, then roll them in the crushed cornflakes, pressing gently to adhere. Place them back on the plate.
- 5
Freeze Again
Return the coated ice cream balls to the freezer for at least 1 hour to ensure they are very firm.
- 6
- 7
Fry Ice Cream Balls
Carefully place one or two ice cream balls into the hot oil, frying them for about 30 seconds or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining ice cream balls.
- 8
Serve
Place the fried ice cream balls on dessert plates. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and garnish with maraschino cherries. Serve immediately.
