Fish Flautas

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the white fish fillets, lime juice, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook the fish for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon, until fully cooked and flaky.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tortillas

In a separate pan, warm the corn tortillas over low heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable. This will make it easier to roll them without breaking.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Flautas

Take one tortilla and place about 2 tablespoons of the fish mixture on one end. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and secure with a toothpick. Repeat this process for the remaining tortillas and fish mixture.

  4. 4

    Fry the Flautas

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the rolled flautas, seam side down. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Chop the fresh cilantro and sprinkle on top of the flautas before serving. Serve with sour cream and salsa on the side.
