Batter and Frying
Method
Batter and Frying the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Gradually whisk in cold water until a smooth batter forms.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying by testing a drop of batter; it should sizzle immediately.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Remove marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dip each piece into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered chicken in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and let drain on paper towels.
