Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Wash and cut the boneless chicken into bite-sized pieces. Dice the bell peppers, and chop the onion and tomatoes. Slit the green chilies lengthwise.
- 2
Sauté the Whole Spices
In a kadai or large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3
- 4
Add Chicken Pieces
Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the skillet. Stir well and cook for about 5-7 minutes until it begins to brown.
- 5
Season the Chicken
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the chicken. Mix thoroughly so the spices coat the chicken well.
- 6
Incorporate Tomatoes and Chilies
Add the diced tomatoes and slit green chilies to the skillet. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
- 7
Add Bell Peppers
Stir in the bell peppers and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
- 8
Finish with Garam Masala
Sprinkle garam masala over the mixture and mix well. Adjust salt to taste.
- 9
Garnish and Serve
Remove from heat, garnish with chopped coriander leaves, and serve hot with rice or chapati.
