Boil Water
In a medium-sized saucepan, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once the water is boiling, add the grated ginger, crushed cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Allow this mixture to boil for about 5 minutes to extract the flavors from the spices.

Add Tea Leaves
Next, add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves (or the equivalent of tea bags) to the boiling water. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Strain and Serve
Finally, strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade chai!
