Dumpling Ingredients

Method

Dumpling Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dumpling Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. Mix well. Add ghee or softened unsalted butter to the mixture and rub them together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

  2. 2

    Form the Dough

Gradually add milk, mixing the ingredients together to form a soft dough. The dough should be smooth and not stick to your hands. If needed, add a little more flour or milk to achieve the right consistency.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Stuffing

Take a small amount of the dough and flatten it in your palm. Place a small amount of the stuffing (like chopped nuts or khoya) in the center and carefully fold the dough around the stuffing. Roll it gently into a smooth ball. Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing.

  4. 4

    Fry the Dumplings

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently slide in the prepared dumplings in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until they turn golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
