Batter and Frying

Method

Batter Preparation and Frying

  1. 1

    Prepare Batter

In a bowl, whisk together chickpea flour, water, baking soda, and red chili powder until the batter is smooth and free from lumps.

  2. 2

    Stuff the Chilies

Carefully slit each green chili lengthwise and remove the seeds. Stuff them generously with the prepared stuffing mixture.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat.

  4. 4

    Dip and Fry

Dip each stuffed chili in the chickpea batter, ensuring they are completely coated. Once the oil is hot, gently place them in the oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  5. 5

    Drain and Cool

Remove the fried chilies from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
