Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the boneless chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, vinegar, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour and cornstarch. In another bowl, beat the egg. Dip each marinated chicken piece first in the egg and then coat it thoroughly with the flour-cornstarch mixture.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Spicy Sauce

In a separate pan, mix red chili sauce, honey, and any leftover marination juices. Heat over medium heat until it simmers.

  6. 6

    Toss the Chicken in Sauce

Add the fried chicken pieces to the spicy sauce and toss well until all pieces are evenly coated.

  7. 7

    Add the Garnish

In a small pan, dry roast cashew nuts until golden. Add curry leaves to the roasting pan until crisp. Sprinkle the roasted cashew nuts and curry leaves over the chicken before serving.

  8. 8

    Serve

Transfer the Chicken 555 to a serving plate and drizzle with additional red chili sauce if desired. Serve hot.
