Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Tofu
Drain the tofu and wrap it in paper towels. Place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes to press out excess moisture. Once pressed, cut the tofu into cubes and place in the refrigerator to chill.
- 2
Make the Garlic Almond Chili Sauce
In a small skillet over medium heat, toast the sliced almonds until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. In a blender or food processor, combine the toasted almonds, garlic cloves, red chili flakes, soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Blend until smooth, adding a little water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
- 3
Assemble the Dish
Remove the chilled tofu from the refrigerator and arrange the cubes on a serving plate. Drizzle the garlic almond chili sauce generously over the tofu. Top with kaiware sprouts.
- 4
Serve
Serve chilled as an appetizer or light meal. Enjoy your Kaizen Tofu!
